Discipline!!

Hi,

Be informed that I have already given up the urge to belong to this generation..So read this post assuming that author is from old school..
I find discipline very natural and helpful..It isn't about following a strict regime or organising everything that comes your way. Discipline is the attitude which helps you to do what is correct by general acceptance. Discipline is respecting others' time by being punctual,  being cautious about the way of talking to your seniors. It can be about maintaining the decorum of the conversation or being sensitive about others.
My family is known to be disciplinary in all the possible senses. Growing up in the discipline environment was not difficult,  however it wasn't easy . I had the restrictions for everything, so does my parents.  Building this attitude in kids asked them to sacrifice their fun. We(my sister n I) were taught to be considerate, to be prepared for anything and to plan everything on advance. We were taught to be polite and think quickly on any situation.
Today, discipline is just for those studying in military academies because they require to think and act according to the situation. Remaining 95% of population is enjoying their "right to freedom". We are open to everything that can spoil us and  very comfortable in ruining our lives. Disciplined person is criticized and neglected and condemned to put restrictions. Touché! !
I strongly believe in the power of discipline and how it can shape a good future. When you are good at organizing yourself , you are helping to organise our country. And trust me, seeing your room clean, returning back home in sober mood and respecting elders are not bad things. But staying out late, consuming drugs and shutting yourself in the room are definitely bad. There is no charm of the things which can ruin you permanently.

Up for a change,
Mrunal

  1. We Indians made discipline a curse word, that's why we see people breaking discipline! We want our child to follow rules but we won't practice it, we force discipline on them, result?? First thing they want to do after being independent is, break away. Think deep, it does not mean confining yourself to clock, but doing it at right time n at right place.
