Work buddies a.k.a. fun buddies!!!

Well, I started working four years back, unknown to the world where people daily spend 9 hrs at one place and wait for the salary day like farmers wait for rains in India. First year went on analyzing the work place and settling down. After then, I started enjoying work and the processes along with bonding with the team. When the team became a group of friends, I can hardly tell. So the three years went on becoming the most memorable working period. And when I had to leave the company , I was not leaving only  the workplace, I was leaving behind the place which holds the significance because of that time spent there with special people. I was heartbroken.

While working with new group of people , I keep on thinking the stuff we used to enjoy while working earlier and I'd like to share a few things. Sometimes the work load was very much and we shared a laugh while distributing that work. Sometimes, there we were laughing over the some comment from the client for some colleague. And there was one colleague of us who usually had fear of unknown and had very timid, skeptical character. We used to laugh now and then over that, and we can still remember everything about that person, thanks to the endless discussions we had. Teasing each other over something became inseparable part of our work life. Working over weekends was fun, because we could turn the music on high volume and work while shouting over each other. We used to enjoy outings after work, go on trips and trekking. Stupid, really stupid pranks were part of our day daily. The seniors in the team hardly ever showed off their seniority. Ratings and appraisals hardly mattered in those days. Then we all grew up and apart moving to other firms.

I never realized then how much I am learning while just 'hanging out' with friends in office, but now I am. That was the time of having fun while working. I could not care any less about rest of the people in the company, and i am not an ounce regretful about that. When I think about those days, it starts like a slideshow and it brightens me up. Someday i will find a way to articulate exact things that we did, just to keep it as a memory.

This post will sound cheesy and sloppy but I couldn't help gushing over the times i have spent enjoying in the office. I am very sure that people whom i have shared these times will laugh over this post and tease me till the end of my life.

Inner Peace

Master Shifu from Kungfu Panda meditates to attain inner peace. I kept on thinking why inner peace is required. We all think and get into conflicts with the voices in our head like ‘This is not fair, I deserve more ‘or ‘I shouldn’t do this as it is wrong’ and many more arguments go on in our heads. We give explanations and points to convince ourselves and then make peace with our mind. Inner peace is the state of mind when you don’t need convincing because there is nothing which can put you in conflict mode. Remember the humour and dialogues of Master Oogway who had attained inner peace, though turtles are naturally gentle and well-i-am-under-my-shell  kind of creatures.

Sometimes the outcome is so important that you get into ‘inner peace’ mode throughout the journey, and sometimes the people are worth your best mind-mode. Why people like Prakash Baba Amte seem so content always? I think because he has a greater cause to fulfil and his mind has made peace with it. So even there are million difficulties in his way, his peaceful mind overcome each of those.

I promptly put my mind on no-conflict mode for the people who seem willing to do same for me. And believe me, it takes every ounce of your energy to switch on to that mode. You see the pattern emerging itself, which encourages you to put your best foot forward and expect the same in return. In this case, even if you do have some things to worry about, you are happy with things that you have without any conflict or debate in mind. Very few people can motivate you to do that.

I hope you find the cause which puts your mind out of misery and focus on the outcome. And I certainly hope that you find the person who gives you amazing feeling called Inner Peace. Well, I found mine.

Concentrating on that person,

If you could make people taste memories, you should.

Not going to take credit or accept your praises for the beautiful title, it's from the paperboatdrinks.com . Recently I watched an animated video created by Paper Boat drinks with background song as Life is still beautiful. It made me go visit my memory lane and all the wonderful things of childhood came back as a slideshow. Thinking over it, I realized how many things I have forgotten that once used to be important; how easily those memories came back watching that video and what would have happened if nobody created that video. Memories are like a splash of cold water on your face, you get blinded for some moments lost in some different zone; then reality hits hard and you smile upon the feeling that splash gave you.

I adamantly refuse to let go of some memories, so does my parents and sister. They never let me forget some funny moments of my childhood, which i now find embarrassing but remembering those things and including those jokes in daily life spread smiles. It's just not about me or my sister or our childhood pranks; we absolutely hold on to the funny mistakes of our parents and tease them at every chance we could. Vocabulary used at my home is filled with the funny jokes and mistakes that sometime back my parents or we sisters made. Every small jokes that we shared as a family has now grown up roots in our hearts, we don't cut them after laughing on them only once. Those things bind us and we keep reliving those moments .

I love to take photos and keep them with me as souvenirs but if there is no memory attached to photographs, then seeing those wont give me a splash; i ll just say 'oh yeah, we took this trip that year and we had fun'. Without anecdotes and jokes of the trip, i am just going to look at the scenery, not the people I took the trip with. When there are rounds of laughter and people around, memories get built up. But you need to remember these moments to realize how attached you are to those things. I laugh so hard with my friends thinking about two very funny people of my school. I laugh very hard remembering a very rude thing said to colleague by his boss and how we all made fun of him. Without the people and their words at the moment, you wouldn't be laughing at memories few decades later.

Sad memories can make you strong, make you proud of yourself and make you laugh at yourself. They make you realize power of the ultimate truth  'this too shall pass' and make  you face the next day with new hope. Sad memories make me realize that at one point of time, i used to think this is the end of the world, and once i hated everybody(read 'Parents') who refused to co-operate with me(read 'Scolded me'). There are some moments of childhood especially those can give you goosebumps, believe me.

I am truly fortunate to have such family, friends, colleagues who never let go of any chance to creating and reliving those memories. You need to relax and take a side step from your road once in a while to have a cold water splash just to become fully alive.

Thank you Paper Boat for letting me plunge deep into my childhood memories..Wonderful video.

Chidiya ud, tota ud...;)

A creative person Or an artist person?

We need to calm down a little bit. We get so overwhelmed by anybody who has a creative side that we get flattered instanty.

Any fellow is know as creative because he does what everybody else is not doing. If all the people around you are painters, and if you opted out not to paint then you are creative since you are not like anybody . I think each one of us are creative, we just choose not to do something creative over doing something which pays our bills 'easily'; easily because something which you are good at ,will earn you money eventually .

I think 'creative' word is restricting our ideas and 'artist' word brings a whole lot of prejudices with itself. When you can create something, choose not to buy the same thing available easily, you are creative. When you have lots of ideas around one particular thing, then you are artist of that art.

I have seen creative people and I have seen artists. My mom is very creative, she knows what menu to put up with which set of friends. She knows what furniture will go with walls. She can make a new set of jewellery from the bits and pieces of junk jewellery lying around. She knows individual things that will calm down each person in the home. She knows how to decorate perfectly any dessert or any showy thing. But when an interior designer is around, she cannot be boss because there is an artist present who knows this art better than her.

Artists are wholly devoted to their art. They think, breathe, see and listen to only those things which gets approval by their artistic aura(if you know what I mean). This kind of dedication is not everybody's cup of tea. It requires patience, dedication and a strong belief in your art.

Creative people just go for something that will be widely appreciated and accepted. They need to observe the people who they are dealing with.Their idea is to keep everybody happy including themseves. I think every artist should be creative if he want a wider range of audience. Suppose if a vocal artist is invited to a wedding and he has been asked to perform a song. If he is a creative person , he will go for a happy, well-known song. If he is not creative, he will perform on anything without thinking about the occassion or people or location.Artists make their living out of their art so it is not their fault if they are not concerned with what people might think. Whereas creative people are just concerned with making things better which is not always necessary. One can easily survive with simple things without adding any creative touch.

What one thing I surely know is anything which you cannot do, and some other person does it,then it calls for a good appreciation. You have to be a sport and appreciate the efforts. Even if it's a small help of making your presentation more presentable, or giving a personal touch to a very small space of your apartment by your artist friend. Art is meant to please your senses. SO when you do get pleased, don't hesitate to pass over a good appreciation to the responsible person.

And even if you think that you dont possess a single creative bug inside your head, just speak to yourself; it will help. And you can always excel in being an honest critic of the art.

Let's hope for appreciation(and less hope for criticism).

Feeing artistic(creative included),

Mrunal

Discipline!!

Hi,

Be informed that I have already given up the urge to belong to this generation..So read this post assuming that author is from old school..
I find discipline very natural and helpful..It isn't about following a strict regime or organising everything that comes your way. Discipline is the attitude which helps you to do what is correct by general acceptance. Discipline is respecting others' time by being punctual,  being cautious about the way of talking to your seniors. It can be about maintaining the decorum of the conversation or being sensitive about others.
My family is known to be disciplinary in all the possible senses. Growing up in the discipline environment was not difficult,  however it wasn't easy . I had the restrictions for everything, so does my parents.  Building this attitude in kids asked them to sacrifice their fun. We(my sister n I) were taught to be considerate, to be prepared for anything and to plan everything on advance. We were taught to be polite and think quickly on any situation.
Today, discipline is just for those studying in military academies because they require to think and act according to the situation. Remaining 95% of population is enjoying their "right to freedom". We are open to everything that can spoil us and  very comfortable in ruining our lives. Disciplined person is criticized and neglected and condemned to put restrictions. Touché! !
I strongly believe in the power of discipline and how it can shape a good future. When you are good at organizing yourself , you are helping to organise our country. And trust me, seeing your room clean, returning back home in sober mood and respecting elders are not bad things. But staying out late, consuming drugs and shutting yourself in the room are definitely bad. There is no charm of the things which can ruin you permanently.

Up for a change,
Mrunal

Respect your Life!!! Seriously!!

I am really stressed out. You know why? Because some jerk with no brains posted a disgusting fake image of a gruesome blister on arm of some person. I am not able to get that image out of my mind because bad blisters ruined one year of my childhood. I dont know what prompts people to do this kind of prank. The thought process behind such a cruel though very small act scares me. When you are feeling elated on disturbing somebody's day, somebody's mind, somebody's peace then how you can be trusted with a whole lifetime. Life time of 50 years is enough for creating more of such a nonsense stuff just to get cheap publicity on internet. Maybe this is a very small thing to be paranoid on but this is ruining my day, my peace. It's a huge thing for me.

I was raeding one blog which had stories of suicide attempts. Out of 10 stories, 5 suicides were the result of high school bullying. Bullies in high schools are feared by everyone and the end result of non-stop bullying is suicide by the kids. Why do some people possess this kind of mentality towards the weak and vulnerable, this is really frustrating for me. To understand this mentality, I need to study psychology. Studies shows that bullies are people who suffer from bad childhood or themselves got bullied sometime.

I am scared to the core for facing the next day after reading this. I am not scared of the people, i am terrified of the circumstances that forces people to behave this way. I am terrified of the mentality of the 12-13 year kids to brutally beat a kid of the same class just for proving the supremacy. I am terrified of the negligence of the parents who dont know what their kids are posting on the internet, what kind of cruel images and jokes makes their kids happy.

World is not a good place to live in.

Going into depression,

Forgiven and forgotten. ..

I am embracing this toughest task and asking you to join me...Haa,it  seems as if I am driving a social cause for improvement of this society, but I am not. I am asking people who got hurt by my actions. I am asking you to forgive me and if you cannot do that,  at least forget me. I cannot be brazen to  face you all without apologizing.  Since some of us are not even on the talking terms,  so accept my apology here.
A very popular animated movie has a dialog "oh yes, past can hurt. But either you can run from it or learn from it." But it is not easy to learn frm the past because the thing which is to learn do stabs you at the same point like it did in the past.
Each person has some share of daily pains inflicted by the past. Maybe a person, memories or something reminds us of it everyday. But you can never be happy fully if one portion of your heart remains stuck in the past and bleeds. Maybe be the apology can help you get over the past..I am trying the same, I will be never forgiven in the worst case but I ll be at peace with myself.
Forgetting is easy when no piece when you have no grudge attached with the person. Grudges are ugly, they haunt the peace and howl in the mind..Let them go, let the person of ur grudge realize his fault..and even if he doesn't,  you have got nothing to lose..
People, please forgive me whenever I was at fault. .

Counting on you,
Mrunal
